What We Do

As a part of the India Millet Initiative, we have developed a special program for farmers to encourage them to participate in millet production. It would spread awareness and enrol new farmers to participate in millet production thereby expanding cultivable lands both in traditional and non-tradition areas.

We help farmers adopt the best method of cultivation and technology through which they can improve their yields. We encourage introducing better pest control management in millet growing areas, which is a neglected aspect, to prevent crop loss when attacked by pests like shoot flies, stem borer, and grain mold.

We are also creating seed-hubs for seed-breeding and seed production. In our realisation, this is an important area that would ensure demand-driven millet production. Furthermore, we are collaborating with technology development institutes for quality millet processing, storage, and development of various millet-based products.
